First Time CNOR Scholarship Applications are due November 1st

Have you been a member of AORN San Diego County for at least one year? If you have taken or plan to take the CNOR certification exam this year between April 1 and September 30, 2026, we are offering a reimbursement scholarship in the amount of the single exam registration fee of $445. Our chapter awards two First Time CNOR scholarships twice each year!  The awards for this term will be presented at our December meeting.

Becoming certified is evidence of your commitment to perioperative excellence. As a CNOR, you are bringing to work advanced knowledge in caring for patients during their most vulnerable time, when they require surgical intervention. You work hard at what you do—let us help with a bit of the financial piece to build your professional portfolio!

A Year of Learning Through the AORN Guidelines

This past year, our chapter is excited to place a special focus on the AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice—the gold standard for safe, evidence-based surgical care. Every educational presentation and journal club dove into a specific guideline, helping perioperative professionals strengthen their knowledge and apply best practices directly to their work.

We kicked off the year with an inspiring visit from the AORN Guidelines authors here in San Diego, and we’re keeping that momentum going! From infection prevention to safe surgical techniques, our events will give you practical updates, opportunities to discuss real-world applications, and the chance to connect with colleagues who are just as committed to excellence in perioperative care.
